New Review Forum!

The December 2014 issue of Current Anthropology features a significant new collection of articles, “The Anthropology of Christianity: Unity, Diversity, New Directions.” The collection gathers 17 essays divided into four sections: “Christian Institutions: Church, Denomination, Schism”; “Christianity, Space, and Place”; “Christianity and Gender”; “The Anthropology of Christianity at the Boundaries of Christianity and Beyond”; and, “Reconsidering Key Topics in the Anthropology of Christianity.” The collection begins with an introductory essay from Joel Robbins, and concludes with an Afterword by (AnthroCyBib‘s own) Naomi Haynes.

Over the next several weeks, AnthroCyBib will publish a review forum of this collection, with each reviewer focusing on one section. We begin with Ruy Blanes’ incisive reflection on “Christianity and Gender”…
